Fall Fun Continues in the Bloomsburg Area

October is almost here and we are fully in Fall Fun mode! All around our area are so many family friendly fall activities to enjoy. From corn mazes, to pumpkin patches, to hay rides and more, we’ve gathered together some places to make a memorable excursion for you and the kids!


Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm

Located near Washingtonville in Milton, Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm is best known for its Christmas trees and gift shop, which has over 80,000(!) ornaments and the largest collection of Christmas tree stands in the word (according to Guinness Book of World Records), but did you know they also have a fall activities?

  • Hayrides: (Beginning October 10th) Rides are 30 minutes long and explore the country roads surrounding the farm. It’s recommended to check their Facebook or call to make sure rides are running based on weather. The hay wagons are very large and accommodate sizable groups ($2.50/child; $4/adult)
  • Corn Maze: covering a 7 acre areas with a total of 3.6 miles spanning trails (a main trail and a short trail). Enjoy it on a beautiful fall day or bring your flashlights for an evening exploration. With your maze pass you also get a pass to play their Giant Lawn Games, which include fun challenges for both your mind and your body! ($14/ages 13 and up; $8/ages 5-12 or seniors (ages 65 and older).
  • Pumpkin Patch: a huge field full of different varieties of pre-priced pumpkins and gourds for you to pick from, as well as a huge selection outside the shop.
  • Corn Cannon (tickets: $0.75/each; $8/ 12 shots; $45/ 100 shots)
  • Pumpkin Chunkin machine (tickets: $0.75/each; $8/ 8 shots; $85/ 100 shots).

Tickets for all activities can be purchased online or on site in the shop.


Maylath Farm and Orchard


Open for Fall fun on Saturdays and Sundays only beginning October 1st through 30th, Maylath Farm and Orchard is nestled in the beautiful valley of Sugarloaf. The farm has been operating for over 40 years with a focus on small plot agriculture and the environment. Maylath offers lots of food and drink options like burgers, fries, pierogies, snacks, and baked goods.

  • Corn Maze: Upon entering, you will receive a game card to find hidden words inside the maze. In total it covers a 10 acre area, so try not to get lost finding your way through! (FREE/ages 2 and under; $5/ages 12 and under; $7/ages 13 and up)
  • Hay Rides: ride out to the Pumpkin Patch to choose your perfect pumpkin, rides running multiple times per day ($1.50/rider)
  • The Grain Train: Each cart fits 5 to 6 people; hop in with the family and take a ride through the woods and corn fields! ($10/cart), 11am-6pm
  • Hillbilly Slide: $1/ride or $5/unlimited rides, 11am-6pm
  • Pony Rides: $4/rider, 11am-6pm
  • Pedal Cars and Tractors: $2 (for adults and children!), 11am-6pm
  • Cow Train Rides: Little ones love riding around the scenic path ($2.50/rider), 11am-6pm
  • Giant Bounce Pillow: $3/jumper, 11am-6pm
  • Kiddie Play Area and Petting Zoo: FREE! 11am-6pm


Retherford’s Farm Market

Located on Route 487 in Benton, Retherford’s offers an amazing selection of local produce and other goodies, pumpkins, seasonal flowers, and antiques. They also have family friendly fall attractions for for making seasonal memories! They are open weekdays from 9am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 7pm, and there is no admission fee to enter the farm. Each weekend there is ice cream and other concessions. This year their Mylee and Hannah’s Corn Maze is dinosaur themed and includes 5 acres of fun! Ages 2 and under are free; $8/ ages 65 and older; $10/ ages 3 and up.

  • Stationary Corn Bus: Similar to a ball pit, but filled with corn, this is a great place for kids and grown ups alike to romp and play. Enjoy digging for hidden dinosaurs for an added layer of entertainment!

Green Barn Berry Farm


Operating for over 60 years, Green Barn isn’t just a berry farm! Located in Muncy, this lovely spot also features many fall-oriented activities, including visiting the farm animals as well as a Barn and Sweet Shop that sell local goodies such as produce, honey, syrups, jams, baked goods, and more.

  • Hay Rides: (Saturdays and Sundays only): Take a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick your favorite one! (FREE/ages 2 and under; $3/ per person ages 3 and up)
  • Pumpkin Patch: Walk out into the field any day and choose from a large selection of pre-priced pumpkins ($5 or $8/each)
  • Sorghum Maze: Navigate your way through the maze on a beautiful autumn day (FREE/ages 2 and under; $3/per person
